Congratulations to the Year 7 and Year 9 rugby teams. Both teams played away against Lutterworth High School @lutthigh Year 7 won 45-05 Year 9 won 33-29

King's held an inter-school debating competition in French. The schools that took part were KGGS, Nottingham High School @nottshigh , Birkdale School @birkdaleschool , The King's School - Peterborough kingsschoolpeterborough and King's School - Grantham. The Year 12 and Year 13 teams both did outstandingly well with the Year 13 team reaching the Grand Final. They were narrowly defeated by the Nottingham High School team who were the overall winners. Great fun was had by all.

History at the University of Lincoln. 42 students from Year 11 and Year 12 attended a History Study Day hosted by academics at the University of Lincoln. The day began with an engaging keynote speech by Dr Jon Coburn on the origins of the Vietnam War before the year groups separated for primary source workshops. Year 11 studied sources from WW2. Year 12 were introduced to material artefacts from the British Empire. After lunch, Dr Sarah Longair spoke to Year 11 about History beyond GCSE, while Year 12 the historiography about the study of Eugenics. Finally, all students were treated to presentations from three academics about their research and the work of academic historians. A fantastic day and huge thanks to the University of Lincoln for hosting us! @unilincoln

Congratulations to the CCF and thank you to Colonel Heardman for presenting the trophies. "As an Old Boy, it was a pleasure to return to King's for the first time in over a decade, and to hear about the successes of the CCF. That success is a reflection of the commitment and hard work of the School contingent, the adult instructors and the application of the Cadets. It was a real privilege to present so many badges, awards and hard-earned promotions, particularly the Skill at Arms and Valhalla trophies."

Congratulations to the Year 10 King's XI who entertained Boston Grammar School in the 3rd round of the National Cup. King's dominated the ball for the majority of the game and ran out 2-0 winners. Goals came from Hector Parker and Jack Chadwick. @bostongrammarschool

The King's School Alumni - Annual Dinner and Hubbard Cup Date. Tickets are now on sale for this year's Alumni Annual Christmas Dinner. https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/the-kings-school/t-noexqpp We have some very important dates coming up. The Annual Rugby Fixture, the Hubbard Scott Cup, will be played on Saturday, 19 April 2025, at Newark Rugby Club. The Annual Cricket Fixture will be played in the summer of 2025. In 2026 the Alumni (Formerly the Old Boy's Society) will be 100 years old. In 2027, we will celebrate the life of Issac Newton on the 300th anniversary of his death. In 2028 it will be 500 years since Bishop Richard Foxe reendowed the school.

Congratulations to the three new Master Cadets who completed their course at the Cadet Training Centre, Frimley Park. Master Cadet is the pinnacle of a cadet's time in the CCF, they have successfully passed their star levels and become a role model to junior cadets.
